A new report published by the Web Offset Association (WOA) unveils the findings of a recent study of fluting in heatset web offset printing. The study aimed at finding a way to eliminate or reduce this paper deformation that can occur in products printed by the heatset web offset process. Fluting is defined as a series of corrugations in line with the direction of web travel that are produced on press. These deformations can be a serious problem for web printers because they do not relax until months after the product has been delivered, if at all.
