EMERGENCY QUARANTINE OF N.C. HONEYBEESUES
RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Carolina Department of Agriculture Plant Industry Division today established an emergency quarantine that prohibits the importation of honeybees into the state. This action was taken to protect the state's honeybee industry from two parasitic mite pests, the honeybee tracheal mite and the varroa mite, that have been recently found in the United States.
