A buyer has snatched up the three-bedroom house being built at 1030 Morgan Av. N. in the Near North neighborhood of Minneapolis.
That's remarkable if you know the history of the address: After the two fatal shootings, an attack that left a man paralyzed and hundreds of other police calls, the city razed a 10-unit apartment on the site three years ago today.
What's even more remarkable is the price for which the replacement house is selling. The Greater Minneapolis Metro Housing Corporation listed it at $130,000. Three GMMHC homes across the alley sold for less than $85,000 each in 1997.
