The San Joaquin Valley isn't being confused with Silicon Valley and Fresno is still known more for cow chips than computer chips, but high technology's share of the local economy is growing.
"We are actually engaged in a directed effort to make Fresno a high-tech community. It's happening at multiple levels," said Ghassan AbulGhanam, chief operating officer of VisionOne, a Fresno company that provides Internet and e-commerce solutions for businesses. "All are promoting Fresno as the next high-tech mecca."
