Jul. 11--The founder and a top manager of Anchorage-based Hawaiian Vacations have semiretired and handed over daily operations to others in the company.
John Hardwick, who founded Hawaiian Vacations in 1982, will retain the titles of chief executive and president, while Ral West, who headed daily operations, will remain executive vice president.
But management was shifted July 1 to David Karp and Phil Okeson, two other officers in the company.
Hawaiian Vacations specializes in selling seats on chartered planes to Honolulu.
