Jul. 12--In a blow to its prestige, Wenham-based ad agency Mullen acknowledged yesterday that it could lose two premier clients, Maine retailer L.L. Bean Inc. and Monster.com of Maynard, the job search and career management Web site.
Mullen and L.L. Bean have "mutually agreed to part ways," said Mullen chief executive Joe Grimaldi a few hours after Monster.com said it had hired Pile and Co., a Boston consulting firm, to conduct an ad agency review on its behalf.
Because Mullen, New England's third largest ad agency, has been invited to participate in that review, it is possible Mullen could still get to keep Monster.com's business.
