University Ridge celebrated Tuesday a decade as the trend-setter in public golf in the Madison area by having University of Wisconsin officials explain how they plan to raise the bar with ambitious facility expansion over the next five years.
Speaking to people who played key roles in the course's first decade of operation, UW associate athletic director Al Fish outlined plans to launch fund raising for the $15 million project next month. A second 18-hole championship course, a comprehensive learning center and continued improvements to the recently expanded clubhouse are contained in the proposal Fish will present to the UW Board of Regents in October.
