SAN JOSE, Calif. _ As online customers grow more savvy and cautious about protecting their personal information, an increasing number of companies are turning to a new corporate player, often called "chief privacy officer," to prevent legal or marketing disasters.
The "CPOs" are charged with making sure companies' privacy policies are adequate _ and are followed.
