``NYPD Blue,'' the police drama mugged by its own network, returns at last for a new season and in fine form.
After delaying the series' fall debut and even toying with removing ``NYPD Blue'' from its longtime slot, ABC relented. The first of 22 episodes, a full season's worth, airs at 10 tonight on KOMO/4.
The 15th Precinct station house is alive again with lowlifes, victims and hardworking cops trying to keep it together as they slog through the criminal mud. Andy Sipowicz, one of television's most compelling and layered characters as played by Dennis Franz, remains at the center of the action.
