Musicians often speak of their influences, but rarely get the opportunity to show the public what they owe their mentors. Guitarist Bill Frisell will do exactly that when he shares the stage with his first teacher, Dale Bruning, for two performances at Cornish College of the Arts this weekend.
They plan a concert of traditional jazz, including compositions by Charlie Christian, Thelonius Monk and Jim Hall.
