They say in basketball that you live and die by the foul line. Such was the case for the Roosevelt girls last night, as the Roughriders lost a tense 71-66 battle to the top-ranked Lake Washington Kangaroos in the second round of the KingCo 4A playoffs.
The Kangs (21-1), who trailed by nine points early in the fourth quarter, hit 29 of 37 free throws in the game to turn back the fiesty Roughriders for a berth in the conference finals.
``This year I've never had that nervous feeling when we're behind,'' said Kangs point guard Briana Duerr, who finished with 22 points. ``I know we can come back from any deficit.''
