If you hike through the year, you probably are familiar with the trails of Deception Pass and Cranberry Lake, but there is another Cranberry Lake that also is deserving of a visit.
This Cranberry Lake is near Anacortes, and late winter or early spring is a good time for a hike before summer crowds arrive. It's part of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands, with trails open to hikers, horseback riders and cyclists year-round.
