When Chicago-based Team Marketing Report last week released its annual study on the price of attending a Major League Baseball game, Mariners officials immediately went into damage control mode - for good reason.
According to a news release from the sports-industry research group, the Mariners had the highest Fan Cost Index in baseball: $191.24 for a family of four that buys two average adult-priced tickets, two average child-priced tickets, four small soft drinks, two small beers, four hot dogs, parking for one car, two game programs and two caps.
