The Vietnam War still haunts many Americans. But the divisive war has also fueled the growth and expansion of one of the region's largest furniture concerns.
Two Vietnam veterans, Fred and John Rohrbach, launched Tukwila-based A-- America Inc. 25 years ago, soon after finishing their tours. Since then the two brothers have built the small import business into a furniture company that expects to record up to $100 million in sales this year.
Although A-- America is based in Washington state, its top executives maintain close ties to Vietnam. Roughly one-third of the company's 170 employees are from Vietnam.
