Horseshoe Gaming Holding Corp. announced today that Joseph J. Canfora has resigned as president of the company, effective immediately, to pursue other interests.
Mr. Canfora, 41 years old, was named president of Horseshoe Gaming in December 1999 after the company acquired the Empress Entertainment Corp. riverboat casinos in Joliet, Ill., and Hammond, Ind., where he had served in a similar role since June 1997. In addition to overseeing the Empress properties, Mr. Canfora had managed the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel properties in Tunica, Miss., and ...
