Just when it looked like the Phoenix Suns would extend their winning streak to nine games, their offense took the rest of the night off.
Phoenix scored just one point over a seven-minute stretch of the fourth quarter and allowed New York to close the game with a 19-5 run as the Knicks beat the Suns, 84-79, Friday night. The loss was the Suns' first since Feb. 4.
Patrick Ewing tied his season high with 25 points and had 10 rebounds, Latrell Sprewell scored 21 and Chris Childs hit a pair of big jumpers to finish a late 13-0 run that allowed the Knicks to overtake the Suns after trailing for most of the night.
