Belleview and Rabbit Hash residents intensified their efforts Wednesday night to persuade Sanitation District No. 1 to find another location for a proposed $144 million sewage treatment plant.
More than a dozen people among about 150 attending a public hearing at Conner Middle School in Hebron took the opportunity to address Sanitation District officials, citing lower property values, increased truck traffic and environmental concerns as reasons for their opposition to the proposed plant near Belleview in western Boone County.
