Former University of Wisconsin athletes Suzy Favor Hamilton and Jenelle Deatherage qualified for Sunday's finals in the women's 1,500 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials before a sellout crowd of 23,211 at Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium on Friday night.
Favor Hamilton won her heat in a time of 4 minutes, 10.29 seconds, but ran just the third-fastest time among the three heats. She was about four seconds slower than the 4:06.16 Regina Jacobs ran in winning another heat.
