RIVERSIDE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2000

Profed Mortgage, with 11 offices in Southern California and Nevada, will change its name to Provident Bank Mortgage (PBM) effective July 17; it was announced today by Richard L. Gale, president.

PBM is a division of Provident Bank (established in 1956), a subsidiary of Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:PROV) and is headquartered in Riverside.
