COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, July 16 (UPI)
Sri Lanka has relaxed its censorship rules that had limited the media's coverage of the on-going war in the island nation between the government and the Tamil Tiger guerrillas.

Under the new regulations issued Sunday, the mere mention of issues that deal with security situation in Sri Lanka will no longer warrant censorship "unless the content is such that it must result in national security being endangered."
