NORTH and South Korea are technically still at war. Technicalities sometimes kill. On January 15th Miss Kim Hyon Hui, arrested for the terrorist bombing last November of a Korean airliner with 115 people on board, confessed on South Korean television that she was a North Korean agent. Troops on both sides of Korea's demilitarised zone were put on full alert.
War, even the sort of retaliatory bombing that America launched against Colonel Qaddafi in 1986, is unlikely to happen. The Olympic games open in Seoul on September 17th, and South Korea will not jeopardise an event that has attracted a record 162 entrants, including Russia and China (a coup for the South ...
