Hoerner Succeeds Rayne As Harvey Nichols Chairman

John Hoerner has been named chairman of Harvey Nichols, succeeding Edward Rayne, who has retired.

The Burton Group PLC, owner of Harvey Nichols, said Hoerner's appointment will be in addition to his current duties as chairman of Debenhams. Burton acquired Harvey Nichols when it bought Debenhams PLC in 1985.

Hoerner will work with Roy Booth, chief executive of Harvey Nichols, on the redevelopment of the business until a new managing director is appointed, according to the store group. The managing director will report to Hoerner, while Booth will continue to have day-to-day responsibility for ...
