HE Ebookers boss preparing to unveil his plans for the beleaguered online travel company has faced down controversy before on the other side of the world.

Dinesh Dhamija's reinvention as one of Britain's better-known whizz kids was built on the back of a bitter court battle and political mud-slinging in Nepal.

The charismatic entrepreneur won a settlement, believed to be worth several million pounds, after taking Royal Nepal Airlines to the international court of justice in 1996.

The airline sacked him as European director after it was alleged in Nepal that his contract had been awarded corruptly by the country's prime minister.
