Fidelity Investments has seen the future of the trading floor and it is on the Internet. To make the transition to a virtual trading floor, the Boston-based mutual fund said it is leveraging next-generation TIBCO trading technology that will include the use of wireless appliances on the Internet. TIBCO will also provide market data cache and use multicasting functions.
Bill Thornton, CTO of Fidelity's e-business, described how the Internet virtual trading floor will work at the TIBCO's Strategic Directions Conference in Monterey, Calif., on April 19.
