Article: ADB okays $176 M for Pasig River dev't.(Business)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved yesterday a $176-million loan and financial asssitance for the clean up of Metro Manila's highly polluted Pasig River.

With a total cost of $750-million, the Pasig River Environmental Management and Rehabilitation Sector Development Program (SDP) will support the government's first five-year phase (2000 to 2004) of the Pasig River Development Plan which aims to bring marine life back to the river and make it suitable for activities such as boating by 2014.
