Recently I became acquainted with the article "The Koreans in Russia" published in The Korea Times on June 19, in which the author, Professor Choi Yearn-hong, wrote about the discrimination of Koreans living in countries of Central Asia, including Kazakhstan.
I would like to offer my thoughts concerning this article to you and the readers of the newspaper.
My parents, as well as thousands of other Koreans, were deported to Kazakhstan from the Far East. My brothers, sisters and I were born and raised in Kazakhstan, and we consider Kazakhstan our native land.
