New York -- Faced with yet another hike in prices for polyester filament yarn, mill men last week said they would seek higher cloth prices on textured yarn goods, but some were not sure they could make them stick.
While the gray goods market in textured goods has improved in recent weeks, weavers have not been able to regain more than a small portion of previous cost increases on polyester staple and textured yarn.
Adding to the problem, they said, was the sudden rise in bill and hold requests in both light and bottomweight fabrics.
