Jul. 21--The addition of 25,300 jobs since June 1999 wasn't enough to keep up with a slight rise in the Fort Worth-Arlington unemployment rates in June.
The Texas Workforce Commission reported a 3.8 percent jobless rate for the area in its monthly labor market information report released yesterday. The Fort Worth-Arlington region recorded a 3.6 percent rate at this time last year.
"You're actually looking at figures from over the year which show employment has increased," TWC labor market economist Robert Crawley said, noting work force growth to 934,069 in the region and total employment to 898,888 in June.
