BOSTON _ The Red Sox placed left-hander Pete Schourek on the disabled list on Friday and called up right-hander Tomo Ohka from Pawtucket.
Boston likely would have called up Paxton Crawford to replace Schourek, but the right-hander suffered a gash in his back that required eight stitiches when he fell on shattered glass in his Ottawa hotel room Wednesday night.
Schourek, who has gone winless in 12 starts since May 15, is suffering from a sore left shoulder.
