JERUSALEM - It is on the spires of Jerusalem, the one city holy to the world's three great monotheistic religions, that the Camp David talks have become impaled.
The sprawling hill city, with 600,000 residents, exudes a symbolism that men since antiquity have been willing to die for. The negotiators at Camp David thus far have failed to find a formula that will permit the suitors currently contending for its favors to live contentedly alongside each other.
