Inmates at the state's Supermax prison will not be allowed to read the local weekly newspaper, the warden has decided.
``For us, it's a public safety issue,'' said Gerald Berge, warden of the Supermax Correctional Institution in Boscobel.
The Boscobel Dial typically publishes ``a very, very high volume of personal information'' about local residents, including home addresses, pictures of children and details of school events, he said Friday.
When a citizen complains about unwanted communication from a prison inmate, it's very common to find the prisoner used information from a local publication, Berge said.
