CAROLINA HERRERA SETS SCENT'S DEBUT
Carolina Herrera will introduce her signature women's scent in Saks Fifth Avenue on April 11, and although this is her first such commercial venture, it's not exactly her first foray into fragrance.
She has been mixing her own perfume--a combination of jasmine and tuberose oil--for years. After she signed a licensing agreement with Antonio Puig SA of Barcelona last August, the company simply employed the perfumers at International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc., to copy it.
"I always use everything based on jasmine," said Herrera. "Years ago I wore Fracas. Before that, I wore Joy for a while and before that, ...
