While racing boats cut the water on Lake Washington and jet fighters scream overhead, a very different event -- a study in serenity, meditation and inner awareness -- will take place at the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park.
On Sunday, August 6 at 2:30 p.m., contemporary performance artist and calligrapher Bokuden Matsuda of Japan will produce a new large-scale piece in a performance on the Seattle Asian Art Museum's front terrace. Matsuda will be assisted by local children, who will learn the techniques of the renowned calligrapher while they create their own works.
