Why has St. Charles County be come the whipping jurisdiction for much of what supposedly ails the St. Louis region? For an area where the numbers look impressive--population up, jobs up, income up--the public image outside the county is far from glowing.
If the City of St. Louis ever dies, one anticipates that many will convict St. Charles County of committing murder. Even now it stands accused of alienating the affections of city residents and employers alike, enticing them to the exurbs over Blanchette and Boone Bridges present and Page Extension future.
