Siemens' U.S. business units posted a solid increase in sales for the first nine months of fiscal 1999/00 (10/1/99 to 6/30/00), up 18.3 percent to $10.9 billion from $10.2 billion on a comparable basis over the corresponding 1998/99 period. Nine-month figures represent the volume of all Siemens' U.S. businesses in which Siemens holds more than 50 percent ownership, other than Infineon Technologies North America.

Orders for Siemens' U.S. business units in the first nine months increased 20.3 percent to $12.2 billion on a comparable basis (versus $11.3 billion for the corresponding 1998/99 period).
