SEOUL, July 26 Asia Pulse - The drug safety authority ordered limited prescription for Janssen Korea's drug Prepulsid (cisapride).
Prepulsid is the most widely used drug in Korea to treat gastroesophage reflux disease (GERD).
Korea Food and Drug Agency (KFDA) said Tuesday that increased reports of serious cardiovascular side effects caused by taking cisapride from local and international users prompted the authority to take it off the list of over-the-counter drugs that can be dispensed by pharmacists without a prescription.
