The Kane County state's attorney's office has postponed filing criminal charges against an Elgin Area School District U-46 bus driver accused of physically and verbally harassing two students last month.
Prosecutors said they decided against proceeding with the charges because of statements obtained Friday from the bus driver and her assistant. The statements contradict the account given by a mother of two students who were on a bus headed home June 27 from summer school at Illinois Park Elementary in Elgin.
