Quincy Jones celebrated the 4th of July by thanking France for the happy years he spent there.
Jones conducted the Orchestre Nationale de France in a star-studded jazz concert Independence Day to thank the French for welcoming so many African-American artists over the years.
"When I think of home, I think of a place where there's love overflowing," said Jones, quoting the lyrics of Home, a top tune from his Broadway musical hit The Wiz.
"I've gotten more recognition from France than I ever did from my own country. I never got the Legion of Honor or Arts and Letters medals from the United States," the musician said in a recent interview.
