When Parole Officer Lisa was asked to sit on the National Methadone Implementation Committee in 1998, she never imagined she would end up coordinating the Community Methadone Maintenance Program in British Columbia and become the program's substance abuse facilitator.
When I first got involved with this, a woman from Preventional Corrections came to speak about methadone," says Bayne. "At that time, I didn't know much about methadone and couldn't understand why she was so enthusiastic about it. But after working with it for two years, I see she had every right to be and have found myself getting just as excited."
