Korn-Ferry International founder runs $64-million job search firm

Dick Ferry says he doesn't control the destinies of thousands of executives.

"I don't think we have that power," says the co-founder of Korn-Ferry International, the Los Angeles-based executive search firm.

But if Ferry denies his power, statistics about the 19-year-old company argue otherwise. In 1969 Ferry and partner Lester Korn left Peat Marwick to found their own firm, and they say the concern now conducts searches for 2,000 positions for corporate clients yearly in 18 offices in the United States and abroad.
