The long-debated affordable housing issue in Lake County hit another snag this week on its way to getting included in the county's newly minted Unified Development Ordinance.
In a 15-minute public hearing Monday, the county's Zoning Board of Appeals adjourned without making a ruling on the affordable housing amendment relayed by the Lake County Board, which has been fine-tuning it for months.
The setback could delay approval by up the 60 days.
"We thought we would be dealing with one article on affordable housing - (developer) density bonuses," said Gloria Helke, chairwoman of the ZBA.
