In the span of a week, Green Bay native Heather (Graff) Zakhar went from having one foot out the door of the Futures Tour to moving one step closer to the LPGA Tour.
Zakhar, who played junior golf in Wisconsin before her family moved to Washington, won the Futures Tour event last week in Killington, Vt. Her 6-shot victory was worth $7,000, bumped Zakhar up to No. 18 on the money list and -- with four weeks left in the season -- made her think twice about changing jobs.
As recently as last week, she was planning to send a resume to her alma mater, the University of Arizona, for a vacancy on the coaching staff for its women's golf team. Zakhar played ...
