The Loyd Grossman brand is moving into dry pasta with a new range pitched at the premium end of the market.
The five strong range includes staple pasta shapes penne, fusilli and spaghetti (rsp 99p) and introduces two new shapes: radiatore and spaghetti alla chitarra (square spaghetti) -- rsp 1.29 [pounds sterling].
Mal Pullan, director, Pasta Foods -- the company that produces the range -- said consumers would be prepared to pay almost double the price of own label pasta and trade up to a more expensive one because it is a quality product fronted by a trusted name.
