Fourteen percent of Drupa 2000's exhibitors comprised packaging and converting equipment suppliers.
The packaging and converting segments of the graphic arts have grown by leaps and bounds over the last several years. At Drupa 2000, 214,000 sq ft of booth space was occupied by a total of 284 packaging and converting equipment manufacturers.
Below is a sampling of some of the packaging wares.
Agfa showed attendees that its external-drum Xcalibur VLF thermal platesetter, designed for the packaging and commercial magazine and book markets, can image 65" plates at 2,400 dpi in 3 1/2 minutes.
