Advanced life underwriters, meeting here at their annual convention, grappled with what their position should be regarding possible congressional efforts to repeal the federal estate tax.
Estate tax repeal has been a polarizing issue for members of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, according to its leadership. "Members feel very passionate about this [for and against]," said Michael W. Harahan, an attorney and managing director of Mullin Consulting Inc., Los Angeles, and AALU president for 1999-2000, during a general session.
