Aug. 2--Steve Gilbert, who has led the workforce development effort at the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce, has resigned to take a job in St. Louis.
Gilbert has taken a position with the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association. He will become senior vice president for New Economy at the chamber, which serves about 4,000 members in a 12-county area in Missouri and Illinois.
He will also serve as director of the Technology Gateway Alliance.
Gilbert, one of four senior vice presidents at the Memphis chamber, which serves about 2,600 members, would not say how much he is paid, but said the salary in St. Louis would be higher.
