RIVER FALLS, Wis. _ Kimble Anders returned to the practice field at Chiefs training camp on Wednesday to a rude reception. On his first play, Anders circled out of the backfield to run a pattern and slipped, falling flat on his face.
Anders picked himself off the ground and went back to work, a procedure that by now he's quite getting used to.
Anders began camp battling back from last year's season-ending Achilles' tendon injury. Now, the veteran running back is also trying to overcome the death of his mother, Verna, who passed away last week from liver disease in Galveston, Texas.
