KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 ASIA PULSE - Samsung Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd (Sema) is investing RM22.4 million (US$5.9 million) this year to double its production capacity for microwave ovens and magnetrons, a key component in a microwave oven.

Its managing director, Chang Kyu Suk said the firm would install two additional assembly lines for microwave ovens from the present four and one printed circuit board (PCB) line from the current two.

Once the additional manufacturing facility is operational by the second quarter of next year, Sema will be able to produce 3.5 million units of microwave ovens and six million units of magnetrons a year from the present 2.5 ...
