Bush's acceptance speech _ Democratic campaign officials Thursday said Vice President Al Gore has whittled his list of potential running mates down to six candidates and a possible "wild card."
Two top Gore campaign officials, who both declined to speak on the record, said the final six are Sens. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, John Kerry of Massachusetts, Evan Bayh of Indiana and John Edwards of North Carolina, plus House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt of Missouri and Gov.
