More regional analogue mobile phone users in South Australia will be able to join the digital age in mobile telephony when the final phase of the closure of the analogue mobile phone network occurs on 3 October 2000.

On 31 December 1999 the first phase of the analogue network closure occurred in metropolitan areas of mainland Australia and many regional areas in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
